JOB DESCRIPTION: Paleontologists study fossils to find out about the past. Fossils are the shells, bones or imprints of animals that lived a long time ago. Fossils can tell us about the environment and climate of the past which helps us to learn more about the present. Paleontologists do not study artefacts (thats a job for an archaeologist!)
FAMOUS ARCHEOLOGISTS: Mary Anning, William Buckland (wrote the first scientific description of a dinosaur), Charles Darwin.
