All companies have a corporate social responsibility with many choosing to work with their local community, developing initiatives including school outreach programs. What’s more, these programs are often free! While you’re at it, don’t stop at local businesses – why not contact other STEM establishments in your area such as museums, zoos and hospitals?
– Who are your local STEM-related businesses? Explore their websites to find out what opportunities they offer for primary schools.
– Want to work with a company but can’t find any outreach opportunities? Why not contact them directly and see if they would be prepared to work with your school.
– Companies will often contact the school office if they are offering outreach workshops in your local area. Work with the office staff to make sure that these invitations are passed on to the relevant teachers.
